Progressive classes for sequential learning. Teacher feedback and individual assistance. Note: A gas fireplace is used to heat the practice room. The heat helps to release toxins and develop better flexibility (greatly reducing the risk of injury). Please ensure you inform the teacher if you have any medical condition that may be affected by the heat.

Traditional Yoga at each level. AtmaVikasa Yoga:
The classes are taught with minimal physical adjustments (re: hands-on assistance). . The teachings follow that of Yogacharya who is known for not providing any physical adjustments to the student. Any adjustments porvided are only with the intent to help the student learn how to develop the muscles on their own and to better understand the internal state of the posture. The overall aim of the teachings is based on the theory that each person knows their body and mind better than the teacher. The teacher is but a well-trained guide who helps direct the student toward awakening and developing their own inner teacher.
Back Bending Yoga:
Back bending is a unique practice of yogasanas (postures) with many psychological, philosophical and physical benefits. It is an extended format of AtmaVikasa Yoga. This program offers specialized training and instruction in learning the practice of back bends. Classes are structured to address the whole body and mind in a series of exercises. Very simple to more advanced postures are gradually introduced according to the students’ capacity, goals and needs. Classes are traditional whereby the focus is on the needs and abilities of the individual student. Counter asanas (poses) such as twists, forward bends and balancing asanas are explored during the classes. Yoga Essentials: Back Bending manual is included.
Private classes and programs are designed to provide students with exclusive one-on-one training in the techniques and theory of yoga. Classes are focused on your individual needs, abilities and personal goals. Structured programs are offered in traditional yoga as well as pre-natal and yoga therapy. Programs can be customized to include pranayama, asanas, relaxation and meditation.
